Briton Rivière – Una and the Lion
They told me I was a lamb. As I fought for scraps amongst the pigs,
they told me I was a lamb.
They told me I was a sheep. As I fought beneath their feet,
they told me I was a sheep.
They told me my place, nestled deep within the confines of their fear,
they told me my place.
Yet they forgot a lion needs no name, just as permission grants no power.
So I showed them… a lion can also soar.
